A Return

After being missing in action, I am back.
I've been focusing on my MPT Degree and time got the best of me.


I don't need to remind you that this is a blog about Film and Gaming from an in-depth perspective.
This is not a review site; I want people to see visual medium in a different light after reading this blog. I want to help you realize why we are evoked with certain emotions and reactions from various pieces. Welcome back to Video Game and Film Analysis with CGC Grayfox.

Travelling Delay and Director's Study

I've been out town for the weekend. With limited Internet access and time this week's blog will be posting tonight or tomorrow. Thank you for your patience!

So then I got sick and I completely shut down Sunday. I return home to find out I have a mountain of school work to attend too.
 
First Director's Audition
Wednesday have my first real audition. Ill be auditioning 60+ actors and narrowing them down to a 2 person piece. The other 11 directors also have to cast 2 actors from that pool of 60 for their scene. All the scenes are from Sex, Lies, and Video Tape. The script is super bland but as an emotional piece there is tons of room for high director influence. It will be interesting to see how different everyone's project comes out even though we are all working with the same script.


Music Video Project
My current editing project is pretty interesting. We are getting random footage from where ever to make a 1min music video. Then we need to use that same footage to create another music video from an opposite genre. Aw, the transforming power of music!

Game / Film Analysis

The Game/ Film Analysis article will talk about a specific game/film in the form of critical study.
Over the plot and basic presentation of game/film like a review show would give you I'll talk about elements  like the atmosphere of a title, how does this game treat the player/viewer in it's own universe? The screen direction of a game/film, eye trace, sound direction and how all these elements control your gaming / film experience and expectations.  Parts of old and new titles will be talked about from an analytical and theoretical point of view. Can a game be art? For the titles under discussion we will assume so.This article is the meat of my blog.

My in progress Web Shows

I'm planning to make several web shows over the course of the next year with various groups of talent. The target audience is the gamer. Not the casual or hardcore gamer but rather the gamer who grew up with gaming; the gamer that regardless of skill level within the game can discover the community and personalities in this culture. Gaming Event Coverage

When I am able to attend a large gaming event I will cover various parts of the event when able. This isn't a professional game event coverage site like Getyourtournament.com but it is another eye to the event. You'll find video's and articles about the event.

The You Tube videos found in my channel are a unique blend. I upload all kinds of various things from gaming videos to personal adventures. When a video is related to the article it will be embedded into it.  Otherwise enjoy my carefully calculated play lists to met your interest.

In the world of competitive gaming, I'll be uploading video's and thoughts about the game I play casually and competitively. Gaming it a big part of my life and interestingly enough a big reason why I got into Film and Television; I wanted to tell stories and experiences like the games I grew up with told me. Ultimately there a huge parallels between what makes a good movie and a good video game. In this blog I'll be talking about my Film and Television - Directing studies and projects , my life and experiences as a competitive gamer and talking about the thin line between both mediums.
